Kakalo Oleksej
Oleksej Kakalo was born on 27th of January, 1942 in Derzhavinka village, Chernigiv oblast. In 1971 he graduated from Kiev State Art institute. Basanec, V. Puzirkov, K. Trohimenko were among his
teachers. Since 1977 is a member of National Union of Painters and
since 1985 the head of Oblast Union of Painters. In 2001 was conferred the rank of Honored Painter of Ukraine. Main trends of his creative work are classical landscape and portrait. He considers that his main works are:
"The portrait of Sculptor Bogomolov" 1974,
"On the roads of war" 1976,
"Chernigov Desna" 1994,
"Native land" 2004
