Biography: As a painter Igor Pogorelov works in genre of figurative painting. His art series are the paintings-tales, paintings-novels with deep philosophical understanding of nowadays in which the author created bright romantic and sometimes contradicting characters of contemporary Ukrainians.
Being the citizen of Kharkov Igor Pogorelov loves his city very much. The parks of old Kharkov, unique and original architecture of old buildings and churches is the favorite topic of art works of the painter. A quite impressive is also the number of retrospective architecture landscapes of Kharkov which are full of details of that time they were constructed. In a group of painters Igor Pogorelov created a composition of three paintings called ?The Birth of University? for the meeting hall in Kharkov National V.N. Karamzin University and a composition of three paintings called "Scovoroda ? the poet, philosopher and teacher" for Krarkov National pedagogical Scovoroda University and also the number of historical paintings to the exposition of museum "Kharkovschina in Great Patriotic war". In creativity of Igor Pogorelov there are a lot of various compositional synthetic styles ? it can be barocco, modern or even romantic symbolism which are organically contaminated by the master and came to life on his harmonic canvas. And there is one more theme that always exists in the creative work of this talented painter ? this is theme of love to the woman, admiration of her beauty. No one plot can touch the artist if it is not light up with the power of this love. All creative works of the painter are marked with an exquisite taste, a balance of all parts and aspects, a harmony between romanticism and lyrics which reflects the union of his nature, philosophical view-points and perfection of his esthetic principals. During all his life the painter Igor Pogorelov is the active participant of lots of exhibitions, among them are his personal exhibitions too.
